Ours is one of passion and purpose.
When Venture Prep first opened its doors in 2009, its vision was to prepare all students for acceptance into college. In the past years, however, that vision, while still a core value, has developed into something bigger: Now we’re preparing students for life success.
This wasn’t a difficult shift for us. After all, we have a reputation for being one of the most nurturing high schools—with one of the most dedicated staffs—in all of Denver. We’re now building on that unique strength and developing our learning model so it truly prepares students to achieve their life passions.
How do we do it?
It’s simple, really. We personalize the experience. We’ve been looking at every moment of our students’ school day to figure out how, when, and where we can individualize how they learn. It begins with matching every student with an Advisor who will mentor them all four years. Then we give students as much choice as possible in the projects they complete. In 2016-2017, we’ll take the personalized learning approach even further to give our 9th grade students choice in how they learn. Through a partnership with Summit Basecamp (learn more here), students will become “self directed learners,” ready, more than ever, to thrive as Venture Prep graduates.
